About me
Jill brings more than 30 years of experience in educational technology and currently serves as Executive Director of the Tennessee Educational Technology Association (TETA). Prior to this role, she served as Chief Technology Officer for two K–12 public school systems in Tennessee before retiring from district leadership in 2021.Throughout her career, Jill has contributed to the field through a range of leadership and service roles, including Tennessee CTO of the Year (2016), Microsoft Innovative Educator Trainer, and Tennessee State Chair of TETA. She was recognized as an Intel® Education Visionary in 2015, and represented the United States at the 2014 Microsoft in Education Global Forum in Barcelona. From 2014 to 2017, she also served as an Intel Educator Ambassador at international events.Jill has provided training and consulting for school systems across Tennessee and beyond, with a focus on instructional technology, student data privacy, cybersecurity policy, budgeting, procurement, and the responsible use of AI for school and district administrators. She is particularly committed to helping educators, students, and families understand digital safety, data protection, and ethical technology use. In recognition of her impact on instructional technology statewide, she received the TETA Directors’ Award in 2006. Jill remains dedicated to supporting safe, effective digital environments that enhance teaching and learning.
